About Me

I am currently a student at the Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA, pursuing my BA in Computing and Information Studies and in German, as well as minoring in Psychology. With a strong passion for design, I plan on a career in the field of user experience design.
In addition to my academic endeavors, I like to immerse myself in the world of crafts. From crocheting and woodworking to ceramics and gardening, I find joy in the tactile act of creation. This integrates well with my studies, enabling me to infuse creativity into projects and generate innovative ideas.

Course Work

My academic focus centers on Computing and Information Studies. Within my portfolio, I showcase projects from three distinct courses: Advanced Web Development, Information Visualization, and Human-Computer Interaction. These projects demonstrate my skill proficiency, encompassing design, coding, and data comprehension.

Work Experience

During my undergraduate studies abroad, I worked as an intern for a German UI/UX consulting company where I designed layouts, web pages and application flows. I also completed an internship as a data analyst with the American Association of Teachers of German where I integrated data from 135,000 Schools to create a useful and in-depth overview of their foreign language capacity. I received a grant to explore and develop tasks for “service robots'' in an institutional college setting and worked in the according project as a research assistant. Additionally, I was a German instructor for an after-school program for young children, and I am currently a peer tutor for German students at my college.

Hobbies

A great portion of my creative pursuits is inspired by my hobbies. I crochet, work on ceramics and I am very passionate about photography. Crocheting provides me with a profound sense of relaxation and the freedom to bring my creative visions to life. Ceramics which I also practiced in an undergrad class has allowed me to think of design in a sculptural way, of how to mesh creativity and function. My photoshop course work has contributed significantly to the refinement of my photographic abilities. Already in high school, I was able to play with film photography and got to explore different techniques and materials to produce photographic art.
